Getting to Know Dr. Brian Pollard

As a child Dr. Brian moved around a lot, living in various Caribbean countries as well as Canada and the United States. Traveling the world allowed him to develop a better understanding of community, and that has since helped him to relate to a diverse group of patients—Dr. Brian can empathize with their histories, whether they are from America or abroad.

Dr. Brian returned to the U.S. to attend Georgetown University where he majored in chemistry to earn his Bachelor of Science degree. He then went on to Columbia University to complete his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in addition to a Master of Public Health degree. Dr. Brian remained in New York City to finish his dental training at Montefiore Hospital in the Bronx.

When Dr. Xan was called home to Syracuse for her residency program, Dr. Brian followed and embarked on his professional dental career in Central New York. Before opening Smile Design in 1996, he practiced at North Medical General Dentistry and Martin & Winkler, D.D.S., P.C. Many of his patients today have been with him from the beginning, and he takes pride in having witnessed patients grow up from being kids in his chair to adults bringing their children to see him.

As a dentist dedicated to continuing his education, Dr. Brian constantly updates his professional skills through instructional programs and seeks innovative therapies to enhance his patients’ experiences.

Dr. Brian has resided in Baldwinsville for over 20 years. Central New York has allowed him to raise his family with Dr. Xan, become an entrepreneur, and build a beautiful life—it is home.
