OUR STORY

Drs. Sutherland-Pollard — Family Dentistry in Liverpool,, NY

During the beginning of their separate dental careers, both Dr. Xan and Dr. Brian became determined to open a practice together. At that time they lived in Liverpool, NY, and would often travel down Route 57. When Dr. Xan spotted a dental practice beside Hayden Jewelers, she said, “We don’t need anything big. We don’t need anything fancy. We need a building, just like that.” She also shared this thought with her mother, Mrs. Ivy Sutherland, who told her not to worry and that they would open their practice one day.

Time passed and the two dentists eventually began their search for an office. Funny enough, the owner of that same dental practice on Route 57 was preparing to retire and placed his office on the market. A local dental supplier was able to arrange for the dentists to meet and that’s where the story of Smile Design began.

Finally, Dr. Xan and Dr. Brian had a place to call their own: a dental practice where they could create smiles that people would cherish and that would make their lives better. As practitioners, they believed it was their job to design the smiles people dream of. For over 25 years, they did that together. And now Dr. Brian carries on that mission for both of them.

When Smile Design opened its doors, Dr. Xan and Dr. Brian had no timeline in mind for their joint venture. All they knew was that they wanted to give it their best shot or have a successful practice. They didn’t know what they would achieve, but what they did achieve was everything they had hoped for.
